Tuesday we went to Lapeenranta University. First we went to a chemistry lesson where we had five test tubes filled with five different unknown solutions. In this class the experiment consisted in finding the PH of the different unknown solutions by mixing them with known solutions in groups of three. The solutions we knew allowed us to their PH. By mixing the known solutions with the unknown solutions we could know the the PH by looking at the type of reaction and the color of the new solution. We did this for each solution allowing us to find their PH.
Then we went to the physics lesson where we had to build the most effective wind turbine in teams of three. We had different propeller sizes which we could put on the nose cap of the turbine. We had to find the most effective turbine by finding different combinations of propellers. We could choose the size of the propellers and the number of propellers on the turbine then we tested different turbine designs. After we had found the best design we had to compete with other groups. The best wind turbine was our group so we won the competition and the ruler.
